Hi there @Mrs.G04!

Great question! A validation code may be used for several things. For instance, with your account, a validation code may be sent to your phone or email to verify your identity while adding or changing a passcode.

If you feel this is a scam or fraud issue, please also visit our sites for fraud.

We look forward to hearing from you.

att.net free message: Please use this 4-digit code to complete your mobile validation: 9245. This is a single use code.

What is this?

I just received the same text at 3:25 this morning. Is someone trying to hack into my account?.

I just got a text like this at 7am, called att by using 611 and asked them, they looked over my account and said nothing looked different, so does anyone know exactly why this happened? It was sent by a 6 digit number, i deleted the text but it looked like this, not the same numbers but just so you get an idea “327-260”

Hello Community,

If you receive one of these text messages, but you haven't made any changes to your account, it could possibly be a scam.  You can contact customer service and they would have a record of any of these messages that were sent to you.  If you do feel like this is possibly a scam or fraud, please view the two links below on how to report them.

Take a look at this site!  Scroll down to see the comments.  Several people say they called AT&T about it, and discovered that it's a Phishing Scam!  Block it.  reply with "END", "STOP" etc..!
