Verification Codes Not Working

Hello. I’ve attempted to set up my passcode and other things on my account, however whenever I receive a verification code or input it, it says that it was incorrect. I’ve entered it correctly multiple times, and have still received the same message. Is there something else I can do?

We'd be more than happy to take a closer look into why these verification codes aren't working for you.

 

We'll need some more details in order for us to better assist you:

  • How long has this been going on?
  • Are you referring to your myAT&T account?
  • If so, are you using the myAT&T app, or our desktop myAT&T website?
  • Are you attempting to set up a passcode that's used for account security when you make a phone call to AT&T customer service, or are you trying to set up the password that's used to sign in to your myAT&T account online?
  • What other things are you trying to set up on your account exactly?
  • Also, are you receiving these verification codes via SMS text messages?

Please let us know.

 

In the meantime, we recommend you make sure that you're using the latest verification code sent if you've requested a verification code more than once, as any previous verification codes will no longer work.

I am getting the exact same error. Spoke with almost all the departments in ATT, but no use.

I am having the same problem too.  I am getting the verificaiton code but it tells me it is incorrect when I enter it.  This is across my iPhone, iPad, and Google Chrome.  I have been trying to set-up my apple watch and because the verification code doesn't work, I can't get it set-up with AT&T.

Same issues here. 

I am a new customer. Looking to add some additional SIM cards for BYOD service. 

the website sends a code to my phone but when I enter the code it says it’s incorrect. I’ve tried this over 10 times so far with multiple new codes. 

Please advice.

Please help me resolve the issue. im not able to place online orders. Im trying to add 5lines to my account and it verification code is not working when placing the order.

Amy resolution here?? Trying to add a line to my acct and keep getting issues trying to do the verification code. The code is correct. I just switched the line that the code comes to from sprint/tmobile.

AT&T is just garbage.  Same issue here and I now have to go into a store during C19 to cancel my device.  This company is just disgusting.

Yes, my issue resolved when I just waited a few days to 1 week. Everything works fine now. I'm assuming things just needed time to process.

someone said ATT is garbage. I truly agree with you. It's an absolute garbage and they keep coming out with more garbage. Their MFA is a joke!! No matter how many times you verify your identity it still keeps asking to verify it. And the ATT app keeps signing you out and then asks for verification code when you try to sign in. Absolute garbage

same here, porting from T-Mobile. SIM is activated but verification codes I received are wrong. I can't setup passcode without the correct verification codes.

T-Mobile(Sprint) port over also. Verification code fails over and over.  Can't add/activate Apple Watches.

Disappointed in AT&T so far.  Their apps work and look like they were built in a 1990's dorm room.

Same issue here. Just joined AT&T and I can't add a cellular line for my apple watch and can not change my passcode because the texted 2FA code is always invalid.
