Upset at AT&T Customer Service - Insurance Issue/Error on ATT part and they will not help.

A little over a month ago I upgraded my phone to the S9 and bought the insurance for the phone. This past weekend, I dropped my phone and tried to submit a claim. Apparently, the sales agent added the insurance onto my wife's phone which is 16 months in. Because the sales agent added the insurance plan to my wife's phone, no one wants to help. ATT was bold enough to say it was my fault and they can't do anything to help. Now I'm left with a brand new cracked phone. Any advice will help. Being push around back and forth with Asurion and ATT. I understand it isn't Asurion's fault. This was an error on ATT and they're not willing to do anything about it.
