Updates if I switch carriers
If I take my s22 ultra to a new carrier will I still get updates? It is an att branded phone. I'm aware I would need to pay it off and get an unlock code.

If it's an AT&t branded phone, it's likely it will convert on a different service provider, which means you don't have to worry about AT&t software. It will reveal other software for your new carrier.
Most of the phones sold through carriers now are a universal on version sold for the USA. After the first full software update, so Android 12 to Android 13, they have the capability of converting to another carriers software. Carriers software. Of course, still have to be unlocked. Check your model number, it should end with a 'U'
