Trade-in value issue

So I took advantage of the iPhone 5 trade in promotion while upgrading to the new iPhone 6. My phone was in excellent condition! So I am obviously expecting $200 which is more than fair. When I received my card, I went online to pay my $237 monthly cellphone bill and the original balance of my "promotion card" was $27.37- nowhere near the $200! Obviously, I called At&t who told me to call the promotion services department. I was told by the promotions department that my phone would not power on when they went to check it. I said that maybe the battery died. I was told that it was charged in the warehouse and still would not power on. Total crap!! The woman proceeded to tell me that my account shows that the promotion card should have been for $150 and not $27.37. So if my phone would not power on, why would you offer me $150?? She didn't know what to say. I asked to speak to a manager. She said no one was available! I then asked her to send me back my phone because this is a total scam. She said once it reached the warehouse there was nothing she could do. She said she would have a supervisor call me within 24-48 hours. I waited 3 days and no call. I called back again and went through the same process. No manager was available, someone would call me back. Days go by no one calls me back. I called again 3 days ago- and still noone has called me back. This is a total scam! I am contacting the Better Business Bureau today. By law someone will need to call me back within 14 days. I suggest anyone dealing with this issue contact the BBB as well. We have been loyal customers for years and spent thousands and thousands of dollars. I wish I would have known how they treat people prior to renewing another 2 year contract. Better believe I will be leaving this phone company as soon as I can get out of this contract.

I got a phone call from a very nice gentleman at ATT who has more excess to see what was going on with my trade in's and I was told he looked into both trade in's and everything's good and I would get my 650 credit on both in 2 to 3 months and if anything goes wrong that I could call him back on his extension and he would correct it if everything went wrong. Thank you so much for all your help with this.

Att is the worst company I have seen for dealing with cell phone trade ins. I had purchased a new iPhone at Sams Club and was provided an att mailing label. It was mailed to them on July 18, 2017. As of the date of this post they tell me they have no record of receiving it. Unfortunately I failed to get the tracking number for my Samsung trade in. Is this the way att gets their money back? Now I'm told I have to pay $116 for a phone I mailed back to them. They will get their money but I'm switching to another provider. Word of advise to all cell phone users.....don't do your business with att because they scam you into getting their trade in phone then saying they never received it. Sounds like a case for the BBB which is where this is going next.

How is you lack of foresight in saving tracking, and the USPS lousy service ATT fault?

I found the tracking number. It was returned over 2 weeks later to the post office because it was not received in Fort Worth. Smart Label is the worst method of shipping I have ever seen. Real turnoff to continuing coverage with ATT.

re:Att Trade-in Program Scam

bettyboop66

I recently traded in my Iphone6 to the Att trade-in program. I was offered $120 for my phone. When I received the card and called to have it activated it only had $45.60 on the card. I called the trade-in program and was told my IPhone was cracked. When I put it in that flimsy envelope that was sent to me by Att my Iphone6 was in perfect condition. I wish I had read the reviews before I traded my IPhone to Att. Now I am in a 2 year contract because I got an Iphone7. I have been with Att for years and this is how they are gonna treat me. I am gonna find out how to process a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Still haven’t heard from Att.

I evaluated my phone for a trade in and ATT offered around $5 for it.  Dead serious.

If the packing is not sufficient, you can add your own.  Many do.

You are not in a 2 year contract.  You can pay off the iPhone 7 any time, unlock it and go to T-mobile.  ATT no longer has service contracts.  The only obligation is to pay off phones.

I’m dealing with this now and wish I had read reviews of the ATT trade in program before I mailed my iPhone 6s  to them. It was in excellent condition. I only let it go because I wanted the new xr. When I check the status online it says $14.40! I called the trade in dept and a woman told me she was going to fix the problem and I would receive the full value in a card that would be mailed within a few days. Two weeks later, the status online is the same and I haven’t received a card. I called tonight and got the run around. Nobody knows anything. They basically stole my phone. I would’ve kept it and sold it, had I know about this scam. I’ve never had problems with ATT before and I’m really disappointed. Live and learn. Don’t trust this trade in program!!

@KsRunner

Didnt you process here?   https://tradein.att.com/#/start-a-trade/discover-device-value

Value of $70 - 100 assumes it’s mint.  Almost none are.  Batteries are tired, scratches around the port or screen.

It was in excellent condition. No scratches. The lady I spoke to in the trade in dept said she would see that I received full credit. Tonight, they transferred me to an automated line that disconnected me. Then I called back and asked for a supervisor. They placed me on hold for ten minutes before I gave up and called general customer service. She couldn’t reach them, either. It is a scam. Shame on them for taking advantage of trusting customers this way.

I traded in my iPhone 7plus through the online trade in program by AT&T and I was told through phone and email that I would receive a promotional card with $270 on it. I started my trade in on September 2nd and it is now December 6th and I still hadn’t received the promotional card. I call them almost everyday to check the status of the card and the only thing they tell me is that it takes more time and that they can reissue another card out (which means I hold have to wait an additional 4 weeks). I called the promotional card service and they couldn’t even pull up my name in their system, meaning that a promotional card was never issued out to me from the beginning. I call the trade in program back and they still can’t resolve my issue. They never let me speak with a manager/supervisor and they never have the numbers I ask for. I’m starting to believe this whole program is a scam. I’ve never experienced issues this bad with AT&T. If I would’ve known the process would take this long I would have went into a store and completed the trade in.

*I was currently on the phone with a representative from the trade in program and I asked to speak with a manager and she rudely hung up on me.*
