Spam voicemail without phone call
So yea....the title sums it up.
I use HiYa and Call Protect. I use S10 note plus.
But now spammers are leaving voicemail without having called my phone, or at least without showing any calls or missed calls.
How can this be stopped? Since it can't be ignored obviously, the voicemail might be an important call or emergency so you have to listen to each one.
I can't do the option of only allowing calls from my contacts, since I have children and family....and in an emergency they need to be able to reach me from any phone they have.
But that aside, how is it even possible for them to leave voicemail without showing a call or showing a missed call?
How do I put a stop to it?

Hello there @socalgirl2014 we're here to shed some light on your Spam voicemail.
Under the Call Protect feature spam calls are routed to your voicemail. You'll also get ActiveArmor and its key network security add-ons. These add-ons include automatic fraud call blocking and suspected spam risk alerts.
Standard mobile security includes access to Mobile Security Basic and Call Protect Basic features. Find out how our apps can help keep your mobile data secure and prevent fraud and nuisance calls by visiting Security Apps to Protect You & Your Phone.
We hope this helps out for you and thank you for reaching out to Community Forums.

Is there a way to turn off voicemail?
You know since spam is automatically routed to voicemail, and having it turned off means they can't clogged up your voicemail.
As it is...with spam automatically routed to voicemail without ringing means, you still get spam calls even with call protect,,,,but there is no way to stop or block these calls.

We're happy to provide some additional options to manage unwanted spam calls @socalgirl2014.
AT&T ActiveArmor automatically blocks fraud calls in the network before they ring on your phone or fill your voicemail.
AT&T ActiveArmor works 24/7 to help stop threats before they get to you. Unwanted calls and texts are annoying, and some could be fraudulent or illegal. Report offenders that slip through and help block them!
In addition, to permanently remove the voicemail feature and delete your voicemail box we can meet in a direct message to remove the feature from your line. To prevent your calls from going to voicemail temporarily, change your Call Forwarding settings.
Fraudsters are continuously finding new ways to threaten customer data and device security. As a result, 100% prevention is the goal, but not guaranteed. We are dedicated to continually evolving and improving our security efforts to help protect you, and help you protect yourself with our educational resources. Learn more at https://www.att.com/cyberaware. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for visiting the AT&T community Forums.

Forwarding SPAM voicemails to 7726 does not work. I have been spammed every business day for the last two weeks by Assurant at 844-986-3968 trying to sell "life insurance" and they will not stop!

> Complete the form to help block spam, robocalls, and unwanted text messages.
What is the point of completing this form if AT&T will not follow up on the report? I reported 100s of times, I'm still receiving calls from the same numbers -- it is defined in the law as harassment. If AT&T or FCC were enforcing the laws, this form would make sense then.
> Is there a way to turn off voicemail?
Your best choice at this moment is to use voicemail as a buffer. Blocking tech is buggy at this point and looks like it is not fixed after I reported that a year ago.

Honestly, AT&T doesn't give a hoot about the inconvenience caused by these calls or scammers in general. The only option that will have any effect is to report AT&T to the FCC. AT&T is required to follow up with you by Federal law. If enough people do this, it will finally get their act together.
