Someone else using my email for their account. Can I have it removed?
An AT&T Wireless customer with the same name as me mistakenly set their account email to my email address.
Can I have this corrected? I could do it myself, with the 'Change Password' function, but I worry that that could potentionally open me up to legal repercussions.

Hello RobWarren911, we're here to help you with your request to have the email removed.
We want to get you into a Direct Message to further investigate. Check your Direct Message Inbox (it’s the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums) and reply back.
In the meantime, please have the details of the email available.
We will get started to figure out the root cause and work towards a solution. Keep an eye out for the DM.
Thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.

I'm afraid Jeff from AT&T help is being overly optimistic. If someone by mistake or purposely has your email, there's nothing AT&T can do. That user will have to make the correction on their account themselves.
Changing the password on your account will not make any difference.
If you are concerned this is an attempt at identity theft, please contact your local police department and they will give you some information on cyber security. You should run your credit history.
