Received a text containing “validation” code
Earlier today i received a text from a number that was only 6 digits, the text was “att.net: Please use this 4-digit code to complete your mobile validation: 3742. This is a single use code.”
i called att using 611 on my dialpad and then asked them about this, they looked over my account to see if there was any changes and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary so they just told me to delete the message. Any idea what caused this? 2 other people in the last week have also said the same thing in this thread: https://forums.att.com/t5/Account-Features/What-is-a-validation-code/td-p/4814263

I keep receiving these messages! (att.net free message: Please use this 4-digit code to complete your mobile validation: 5748. This is a single use code) I called 611 and no one can tell me why!

I also just received this message. Has my account been hacked? Or is someone trying to?

Hi,
This could be a spoofing scam or someone may be trying to hack your account. You will usually see this message when trying to associate a phone number to your account, and a text message is sent to verify the number. It is pretty harmless, and you will not have to do anything, but be sure to not give that number out. If you do notice that you are receiving this message constantly, please report it to our fraud site.

I have received several of these texts and so has my wife. We are on a family plan so maybe it has to do with the main account. How can I stop these. They are annoying.
