Phone shut off

my phone was shut off yesterday. I haven't even received a bill yet.

This forum is not customer support. No one here can explain why. How long ago did you start service? Perhaps there is a bill but you didn’t get it. What does your online account show?

As mentioned, this is not support. 

If you are postpaid you should have signed up for auto-pay and manually paid your bill until auto-pay began. It is your responsibility to set up your online account and sign in with your access ID so that you can manually pay your bill until auto-pay begins. If you used your correct email when you signed up for AT&T you would have received an email notification that your bill was ready.

If you are a prepaid customer, there is no bill, only a required refill and it is up to you to put yourself on autopay, or refill in time to continue service..
