I've been charged a deductable for a repair that the repair person refused to carry out.

My phone is broken. I need to retain physical posession of the phone as it has irreplacable data on it.

I visited what I thought was an AT&T store, where they filed my insurance claim, and scheduled a mobile repair person to fix it the next morning.

When the repair person showed up, they forced me to sign their documentation before they would even look at the phone, and after looking at it for less than 5 seconds, pretended to cut themself on the damaged screen and said "i cant fix this" and tried to offer me a replacement, which i refused, since i had stated EXPLICITLY AND REPEATEDLY to the person at the not-an-AT&T store that i needed to retain possession of the phone and didn't want someone's water-damaged cast-off.

Since my phone is broken, I am MANY miles from a corporate AT&T store, and the AT&T support website's chat function is completely nonfunctional, I don't know how to contact AT&T to request an explaination of their refusal to honor the insurance I've been paying for for years.

This insurance is through assurion not AT&T. AT&T has no authority over assurion.

Lol, AT&T sold it to me, AT&T bills me for it, an AT&T employee promised a service that i was charged for and did not recieve. It is definitely AT&Ts problem, not Asurion's.

My goal here is to figure out a way to contact AT&T about my PHONE, i don't give a **** about the insurance any more, i've accepted that i've been defrauded of the $1800 i've paid in premiums while i've had AT&T.

My problem is that there is literally no way to contact AT&T to deal with my account without my phone being working, since you have no email communication system on your terrible website, and I VERY OBVIOUSLY CANNOT CALL ON A BROKEN PHONE.

Employees like you who talk down to everyone are why customer service people are so universally hated.

This was useless and you, the ****** *not* representing AT&T just lost AT&T a customer.

Ok so I pay my mortgage. Taxes and insurance included State Farm is my insurance broker but I pay rocket mortgage for all. So is it rocket mortgage responsibility if I’m unhappy with my insurance claim? (Edited per community guidelines) no. The fact that I’m an employee in a public forum is moot so I’m assuming you didn’t read the disclaimer on my posts that you didn’t read the terms of your insurance. FYI assurion is the insurance provider for all major carriers also Best Buy target sears etc

Sorry but you are incorrect.  There are a few AT&T stores that include a UbreakIfix, which is an authorized repair center for Asurion insurance.

If Asurion cannot replace the glass screen because the digitizer is also damaged then the entire phone must be replaced.  There is also a significant problem getting repair parts because most of them are made in other countries. If Asurion can not find replacement glass , then the entire phone must be replaced at full deductible.

It is up to you to make a regular backup off your phone so that it can be replaced and your data is not lost.  Whether your phone is repaired or replaced you should not believe in your personal data on the phone.

Like it or not, the replies from @Constructive  and ATTHelp  Rhoda are correct.

Asurion is also the insurance provider through other service providers like Verizon and T-Mobile and a lot of small mvnos.  Also through Amazon, etc.

If you don't like the carrier offered Insurance you can pay for separate insurance on your own.  Then you have to deal with their conditions on when where and how they will repair and replace your phone.

As for how to contact AT&T, your sim card contains  your account and your phone number.  You can borrow another AT&T phone temporarily insert your sim card and call AT&T.

If you have indeed been charged a deductible for a phone that could not be repaired and wasn't even looked at, then take it up with Asurion.  If they don't agree to refund the deductible they will continue to send it through on your AT&T bill.
