We're here to help with forwarding Visual Voicemail messages @samten.

Please follow the instructions listed below from your Visual Voicemail app to send messages via email:

  • Click on the message you would like to forward.
  • Navigate to the icon in the bottom right hand corner of the message. It looks like 3 dots with 2 lines connecting the dots.
  • A box will pop up allowing you to send your message to various apps on your device.

We hops this helps! Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Is it possible to configure to always forward messages to an email address? As opposed to forwarding individual messages.

No, but you could use a Google Voice number for that. Once you get a free Google Voice number you can configure it to go to do not disturb (so calls go immediately to VM. Then, on your phone, change the VM phone number to your Google Voice number. This set-up will bypass AT&Ts VM and use Google's. Google's Google Voice app will then take your VM messages and give you not only the audio, but also a transcription of the message. The Google voice app will also email you a copy of the transcription (which you can then use Gmail to auto forward wherever you want).
