How do I check roaming data usage with a passport plan?
I have the Silver Passport plan whcih includes some roaming data, but I can't find out where to check how much has been used (and therefore how much I have left), either on the phone or online. On the phone, it does show "Current Period Roaming" data usage, but I assume that "current period" means the current billing period. The Passport packages are for 30 days but don't align with my billing period. In other words, I used some roaming data in the prior billing period. So I don't know what "Current Period Roaming" is showing me?
In short, can anyone tell me where I can see the amount of roaming data that's been used since the start of the 30 day Passport period?
Thanks!

Since passport no longer charges the same rate for use as the base rate, and instead charges what amounts to a $50 penalty for “overage”; AND AT&T May count differently; AND because we choose to travel without a plan since they stopped the $30 plan; we do this :
As soon as we put the phone in airplane mode, take a screen shot of the mobile data use. Then you have a number to work from. We have actually never used Mobile data for the last few trips.
I don’t find the price of roaming plans reasonable. And when we travel, we unplug. The most I ran up was about $27. We use FB message or Wifi text with hotel Wifi. Last trip I sent 5 texts, so $2.50 plus taxes.
In an emergency, we have agreed to call the international number right away and add day pass.

@lizdance40 I do something similar.
I take the screenshot and then reset to 0. Then I don't have to do any math while on the trip. And odds are, I'm not going to go over on my normal plan (if I had a limit) when I get back home since I was out of town and not using as much data.
BUT I like being connected. If I don't waste it by doing things that aren't necessary to do on the go (download podcasts, videos, update apps, surf facebook, etc.) I can easily go 3 weeks with VOIP calls and sending/posting more photos than usual (since I have more interesting things to share) and a few other things with <1 GB. If I have been really cautious, I might send some short videos near the end of the trip.
When hiking in the heat, it's a great way to take a break for a few in the shade and then when I get to the hotel, I'm not wasting time on the wifi, I can crash and start the next day over 🙂
