Free HBO w/unlimited plan

Received a text message from ATT about my current unlimited plan qualifying for free HBO. Followed the instructions for setting up free DirecTV Now account only to get a message at the end stating my plan doesn’t qualify. What’s the deal?

Hello @Soopmeister

Thanks for your post. We can definitely help you access HBO with AT&T Unlimited Plus Enhanced and AT&T Choice Enhanced.

If you have TV service go to Access HBO.

  1. Select your TV service
  2. Follow the prompts to get HBO.

If you don't have TV service choose no TV service.

  1. Select Go to AT&T TV
  2. Select the Verify mobile number link at the top of the page
  3. Follow the authentication instructions

If you have both TV & Wireless, the billing addresses have to match. We hope this helps. Please post back when you have it setup.

Thanks for your attempt to help. I’m thinking someone dropped the ball when the mass marketing email notices were sent out. It can’t be that hard to either wrote the code necessary or install software that recognizes which customers are eligible and which are not. Wasted an hour I’ll never get back by following the instructions in the email only to discover I am in the Gold Package, which doesn’t qualify. From just the sample size of posters in the community forum, it appears numerous people got the same, erroneous email and I’m sure ATT benefited greatly with the boost in enrollment for additional products in this latest thinly disguised email marketing campaign to offer something for free that will ultimately cost the consumer more money out of pocket in the end. Numerous class action lawsuits are constantly ongoing against large corporations that no longer hold a moral standard as an organization and have become more and more aggressive with their tactics to maximize profits. It’s become a frequent occurrence to see a corporate or top executive being indicted for fraud! In the meantime, why worry about paying a large fine and penalties when all that needs to be done is pass the cost on to the consumer. I’m getting sick of the incompetence and poor moral character that has become the new culture of big business.

Being ‘gold level’ has nothing to do with your ability to get free watch TV and HBO.  Those levels are only an indication of how many At&t services you have.

These perks are included, and advertised as included if you are on the Unlimited and More Premium wireless plan.

(Must add TV benefits & premium add-on option at Content, programming and channels subj. to change.)

Older unlimited plans also had perks included.
