FREE HBO now comes with Unlimited Plus + Choice!

While AT&T only charges $5 for HBO with DirecTV Now, I think it's $15 pretty much anywhere else. But it looks as if you don't even need to have a regular DirecTV subscription to get this.

It seems pretty simple:

"AT&T Unlimited Plus customers will benefit from HBO included in their wireless plan as follows:

  • If you currently subscribe to HBO through an AT&T video service – DIRECTV, DIRECTV NOW or U-verse TV – HBO will now be included for no additional charge.
  • If you subscribe to an AT&T video service but not HBO, you’ll automatically receive access to the premium HBO channels as part of your wireless plan.
  • If you don’t subscribe to an AT&T video service, you can access your HBO content through the DIRECTV NOW and HBO Go apps"

See here for more details.

The biggest issue with this is you can probably have 10 people on your unlimited plan, but only 2 people can stream DirecTV Now, but the HBO Go app is probably a little more lenient on that (but it's not data free*).

And don't they look happy with free HBO?!?Screen Shot 2017-04-05 at 8.50.43 AM.png

 * = While all data is free on Unlimited, non-DirecTV Now data (such as HBO Go) does count towards your 22GB deprioritization limit.

Thanks.

I was told otherwise by the customer loyalty rep, but I doubt I'll be throttled after 22GB where I live anyway.

One more thing to confirm.

AT&T is sending me one of the Nighthawk mobile hotspot units that I will add on to the Unlimited Plus plan. I think I read where this is NOT subject to high speed data deprioritization after 10GB.

Is this true?

Thanks again for all your help!

So it’s truly unlimited high speed data.

Thanks!

No. But read on...

Nothing is subject to deprioritization after 10GB, after 10GB of sharing from a phone/tablet the hotspot sharing is suppose to be slowed down no matter what.

A separate hotspot device doesn't have the 10GB limitation since sharing is the only think it's supposed to be doing. It does have the deprioritization after 22GB just like all other devices where it MAY be temporarily slowed down (if the tower is overloaded).

Want Free HBO from Direct TV wIth Qualifying Unlimited Plan?

Good luck.

I have both services.

Nobody at either company knows how to hook that up especially, ATT Wireless.

I know my plans qualify. I have even verified through the course of my calls with DIrect TV Retention that I qualify for each program.

When I call ATT WIreless, the automatic prompt on phone asks me to enter my DIrect TV Account number to buy time but the ATT Wireless representative still knows nothing. Every time I call Att Wireless I get a different answer from your,  "plan does not qualify" (not true) to "wait 3 months and it will just happen" and let me speak with my supervisor for 1/2 hour.

The Direct TV People  are equally useless, they just transfer you back to ATT WIreless to "verify".

After spending another 40 mins on the phone, I'm ready to quit both services.

Have you done this page? https://www.att.com/plans/unlimited-data-plans-plus.html

Regardless, work hard at it since somethings are changing after the 11th.

Are you getting the $25 discount?
