false calls from Croatia

This problem isn’t trivial - virtually every call coming into my phone appears to come from a Croatia phone number +385 97 7284 381. i never get to see who is calling me - a key feature. problem has been unresolved after 5 calls and several layers of technical help over the last 10 days. Hours on the phone. starting over each time as if they didn't take notes on the problem. they've also told me the problem was resolved several times and it wasn’t. They’ve also said they’d follow up and call me back and that hasn’t happened.

Block the number?

As suggested, if it's the same number, block it. If the number changes each time, there's not much you can do because it's probably being spoofed so it doesn't make any difference if you can see who's calling. If you don't know anybody in Croatia, then don't answer it.

Similar problem while traveling in Europe May 2023. All calls from US based numbers are routed through different unrecognizable numbers in Croatia and I had no idea who’s calling me. Big huge bug. And it’s new. I didn’t have this problem during previous trips to Europe.

My wife and daughter had the same problem as I did. So the bug is broad based and not confined to my cell phone.

It's probably not a bug but a scammer/spammer/phisher who has your number and is spoofing the number and point of origin.

Exactly the same happened to my wife and daughter. Also AT&T has apparently similar reports from other customers.

You already mentioned that. And my reply is the same.

I had a similiar situation, however under Settings / Cellular i was able to change my network selection to another carrier while in the Czech Republic and no longer had this issue come up. You all may want to check if you can change network carrier while you are Abroad to see if that resolves the issue for US numbers showing up as Croatian lines

Many thanks for this very helpful comment. I’llCory the next time I’m in Europe!

just to be sure you all know ElMorro put it succinctly "I had a similiar situation, however under Settings / Cellular i was able to change my network selection to another carrier while in the Czech Republic and no longer had this issue come up. You all may want to check if you can change network carrier while you are Abroad to see if that resolves the issue for US numbers showing up as Croatian lines"

that was the resolution of my issue
