Failed!!!Unlocking the device for overseas usage to be used with local prepaid accounts

This was an absolute disappointment! I flew overseas in the midst of pandemic and later informed by the local service provide that our phones are sim locked in which we were never informed by the sales agent in Lenox Mall, Atlanta!!! O tried to explan the situation for 6 hours on mu firar say at overseas but At&t said they see our phones in installments where again I told the agent that I want to pay in full amount eğen we traded in and avoid any limitations. Afete spending 6 hours, AT&t left us without unlocking our phone at overseas with all difficulties and suggested us using tehir Crazy expensive international phone service. I feel cheated by the agent by the customer service with not providing any gel and I  feel betrayed by the company where I trusted tehir service quality but it is obvious that their phone service quality doesn't match with their customer service failure!

ALL ATT phones are SOLD LOCKED.  If you paid for the phones in FULL you are good to unlock after 60 days if its a new account.  If you used next to pay aka a loan then they are locked till payed off.

As what Glimmerman76 mentioned is correct.

 

Any wireless carrier-branded devices that are purchased from a branded store are used for that specific wireless carrier within the required time. After the device and account has completed the required service, they can then proceed with Unlocking Their Device to use with a new carrier. 

 

Also, if a old device was used as an trade-in towards a new cellphone, as per the AT&T Trade in program, that new cellphone must be on an active installment plan to receive the trade-in discount credits concurrently within 30-36 months.
