Can't unlink my active AT&T wireless account from a Directv account that is 5 years old.

I have had AT&T wireless for years, longer than I can accurately remember, and I also used to have Directv but that account has been closed for at least 5 years.  The problem I'm having is that when I try to log into my AT&T wireless account I am continually redirected to this old defunct Directv account.  I've been on the phone for various account issues for at least 1 1/2 hours over the last couple of weeks and while the representatives have been able to resolve the resolve in individual issues (adding a new car to mobile share, changing payment source), I cannot monitor the data usage because I can't actually login to my AT&T wireless account.  The representatives have tried to contact Directv on my behalf but ultimately they have exhausted the tools available to them and I am still left without a resolution.  When I asked about a timeline for resolution, they had no information they could share and not even a guess on a when this would be fixed.

Anyone else getting this ridiculous run-around or found a resolution?

I can't even get past a login page.  When I got to att.com and enter my credentials it tells me I'm being redirected to Directv.  Once it appears to authenticate me for Directv, I get an error message that says "We noticed that your account doesn't include Directv.  If your interested in a Directv product please visit directv.com", it then redirects me back to ATT.com and the whole cycle starts again. It's just an endless loop.
