CAN'T REDEEM PROMOTIONAL CARD

I received my promotional card from AT&T, registered it online, and can't find the credit anywhere in my account.  Anyone know how this is supposed to work?

The only information I can find, is that the cards must be redeemed toward your bill at AT&T stores. The information is dated, so it may be redeemable towards. Your bill online.
After registering, did you try to apply it toward a bill payment?

Yes, but the credit just disappears.  The info that came with the card said it could be redeemed in an ATT store or online.  My desire is to use it to pay my monthly ATT bill.  I registered the card through the ATT site, which in and of itself would suggest that you can use it within the ATT online store.  However, once it's registered, you reach a dead-end.  The final page of the registration is the equivalent of a DOS prompt with no links to take you anywhere. It seems to me it's just another example of ATT's poor organization and complete non-customercentric thinking.

Does your account have a balance?
It won't apply to create a credit balance (it should, but it wont)

Yes, there's a balance that exceeds the amount of the promotion card.

Hmmm, that isn't right. Try applying it with help from customer service
first. Last resort is take it in to a store to apply it.

It does beg the question....why is this so difficult? Consistently, ATT has the LEAST intuitive programs, website, billing, promotions, etc. They're really a mess.
