Do you have to have direct tv to get this the at&t unlimited plus package? Chatted with 2 different people. The first said no I didn't need it and the other said yes I did and to get a discount I had to be military so I would loss my discount. Any help? TIA

@Moonmaiden1221 As of about 3-weeks(ish) ago, the current unlimited plans stopped requiring DirecTV.
Two weeks ago, they tweaked the plans ago (still not required) and for the UNLIMITED PLUS plan if you had DirecTV of DirecTV Now, you got $25 off. They also took away the FAN discounts but not the military/veteran 15% discounts.
They also allowed you to start tethering a tablet or laptop with that package (unheard of at AT&T previously).
