disconnect a micro cell when I am no longer with att but want another att user to have it

I had a micro cell tower connected to my ATT account. Now I am no longer with ATT but have the micro cell that my neighbor wants to use. How to I disconnect from my account so she can add to her account. When she tried it said it was still registered to me.

You need to go to your myAT&T MicroCell Settings page and deactivate the MicroCell from your account. AT&T can't do it. Only the origianl owner can becuase the serial number of the MicroCell is tied to your AT&T cellular account, even if you've closed that account. Once you deactiate it, give it about a week or so (given the current global situation) for the request to go thru the system. The same rules still apply. They need a wired internet connection (DSL, cable, or fiber) and a post paid AT&T cellular account.

Do keep in mind that the MicroCell service will be discontinued once AT&T begins to transition away from their 3G network, probably around Feb. 2021 or sooner. WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) is what is recommended now if the phone is capable.

Oh, and don't use the mobile app to access your myAT&T MicroCell settings. It hasn't worked correctly for years so you'll need to use a web browser instead.
