ATT Microcell just having green power light

I live in an area where AT*T signal is pathetic and hasn't been fixed for over 10 years. I have always been using a micro-cell antenna and it has worked quite well. Over the last 2 weeks, my Micro-cell is now a steady green power light and everything else is off. From what I read, the suggestion is to recycle power/new power and none of them has worked so far. Any ideas?

Did you get the AT&T MicroCell SMS in July 2020, @asaabi?

AT&T notified customers that MicroCell will be removed from the network. The SMS advised customers if they don’t use their Microcell in the next 30 days it will be removed from the network and no longer work.

Technology is changing, and Wi-Fi Calling is now the preferred solution. We recommend switching from AT&T MicroCell to Wi-Fi Calling as we continue to sunset MicroCell service.

If you still need your MicroCell, go to att.com/mcellconnect for more information.

Please let us know if we can provide additional support. Thank you!

Did you check the ac adapter with a voltmeter ? It should read 16VDC +/- 0.5 with no load. Any power outages?

It's not an answer to solve terrible connectivity issues with AT&T in a growing community over the last 10+ years! What happens when Comcast connectivity is down and wi-fi is not an option?? AT&T needs to own the issue - not divert it to another provider.

For us to help you, you need to answer our questions, so let's start over.

I'm assuming you had a working MicroCell and did not receive the notice from AT&T indicating you had a non-active MicroCell. If it was working, and you did not receive the notice, then Keny's post from ATTHelp was sort of meaningless.

You need to check the ac adapter with a voltmeter as I suggested. It could be that the adapter is just not delivering enough power to the board. The power indicator is just an indicator of current. It is not an indicator of enough current or consistent current. If the adapter fails the voltmeter test, then replace it with one of the same rating and one that passes the 16VDC no load. That may be all it is.

If you had a power outage that could have fried the board and in that case you're screwed because they can not be repaired.

If your internet connection is via satellite or wireless broadband that would be an issue with your ISP because the MicroCell was designed for wired internet (cable, DSL, or fiber) and wireless, while it can work and sometimes for quite awhile, is not supported at all. That's mentioned in the documents.

Finally, sales of the MicroCell was discontinued at the end of 2017 because the MicroCell had reached its EOL. Service will continue until no later than Feb. 2022 once AT&T shuts down their 3G network. What AT&T and us recommend now is WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) if your phone is capable. Other than that, your only other options are to purchase a cellular booster (see my Cellular Booster Guide, link is in my sig line) or switch carriers.

Hi OttoPylot - Looks like my comment got posted after you responded. I don't remember getting a text from ATT and yes, you are right in your assumptions. Testing the power now - there were power outages and could have caused the issue. Will update once I get the power test done

@asaabi I'll be here. Let me know what the adapter reading is and if you have a land-based or wireless internet service and we'll take it from there.
