3G Microcell Help

I recently bought a new GSM Unlocked SAMSUNG Galaxy Alpha through Amazon. Now I know that since it wasn't solf directly from AT&T it won't connent to the Microcell, but I was wondering if there is anyway to activate it or something so it will connect.

Unlocked phones are problematic in that it depends on how it was unlocked and where the phone originated from. All phones have what's called IMSI numbers and are used to identify the hardware as being allowed to use the carrier's network. If the IMSI number is not in the AT&T database, the phone will not work via the MicroCell ( which requires IMSI validation). This number is not to be confused with the IMEI number which is the registration for the phone.

Sometimes unlocking a phone alters the IMEI code so that it becomes an unrecognized number for the AT&T network. There is no way around that.
