bull crap

just  received an email from you stating that rates are going up for 2018 because of an increase in programing .... this is Bull **bleep**.... in fact they are more than likely going up because you have lost so much revenue in lost sales of nfl ticket and the fact more people are saving money going to other sources of television.. instead of being gouged.. but instead of letting profit margins drop you increase the pricing .. good luck to the failure of modern tv as we know it .. times are changing

Programing has gone up.  So what else is new all companies do it to maintain their profits.

This happens every year with all TV service providers, driven mostly by the networks demanding more and more money.  If you can't handle the increase then it's time to reduce your package or explore alternatives.

@bullcrap1, I don't like it either.  But it happens every year.  And it's not just DirecTV.  Like I said, if you don't like it, then explore your alternatives.  Voting with your money will get more attention than posting a complaint here.

Sorry its the truth, programming costs go up. Have you never heard of channel negotiations? Didn't use to happen every year, but it is becoming more common as the channel owners are requiring more and more to be paid to carry them. All TV providers are subject to increased cost.

Look at how much gas as gone up over the years. No longer $0.99 but over $2 - $4 a gallon depending where you live. So if the business costs go up, customer sees a bill increase so that the business doesn't look at ending up working at a loss. Welcome to capitalism.

We are not saying we like it, or saying it is ok, just showing the reality of what causes it. But guess what, TV is an optional entertainment service, not a requirement of life. So in then end they can choose what they charge for it. If you don't like it, you known your options.
