TV channel Freezes

For approximately the past 8 months we have been having trouble with our channel 7 (ABC in Detroit) freezing up at exactly 2:30 PM every afternoon. The problem is resolved by either doing a re-start from the menu page or holding the power button on during a restart, to reboot the system.  From viewing the discussion board, apparently this has been happening to other people for a few years. Anybody have any suggestions besides restarting every day at 2:30?

Tim

When you say "freezes", does the screen go black or do you still see a still picture?

Re: TV channel Freezes

If you have a coax installation make sure all of the connections are tight on the stbs and rg.  I wasn't able to locate your other post so I will ask does this happen on all of your tvs at the same time?

Re: TV channel Freezes

About the TV channel freezing. It only happens on the mentioned channel 7 and on all 3 TVs and at the exact time of 2:30PM. If you happen to be watching the TV, you will notice that the picture freezes. If the TV is off or if you are watching another channel and then return to channel 7 after 2:30PM then you will notice that the picture is black. If you go to the Menu section and select the channel option section which shows which channels to view or hide, that section will show the actual show currently showing on channel 7 but still no showing on the actual channel when you switch back to it.

Re: TV channel Freezes

The channel that I have an issue with is our local channel 4.  It doesn't freeze up every day but every few days it is black.  Usually I can see it in the picture in picture in the guide or info menu.  Today it didn't even show up in the PnP.  I did the same thing I have done in the past to get it to show,.  I do a restart of the dvr and the channel plays again.

Re: TV channel Freezes

Our TV freezes on any channel at random. Once it starts, it continues to freeze about every five minutes. We have followed the instructions that come up on the blue screen after the picture and sound have frozen for a few minutes. Nothing seems to help. It's very annoying.
