I am sending this message as a last effort to get a serious billing problem resolved. I opened up a home DSL account about 3 years ago and received 2 identical bills with different account numbers about a month later. After speaking with AT&T we discovered that you mistakenly opened up 2 accounts in my name for identical service and the problem was supposedly resolved. I have been in the process of buying a home and have discovered that I was reported to a credit bureau for collection of debt. I have been trying for over a month now by calling over and over to get this resolved and noone seems to want to offer any help to me at all. As you can understand, not only is this hurting my credit, but since I am looking to buy a home, can and will have a much larger negative effect because of this. I have already spoken to my attorney and will go that route if needed, but I do not want to if it is not necessary, all I want is for this to get resolved. I have seriously been on the phone for hours in hopes of talking to a human who can at least direct me to someone who can help with no luck. I have read posts on here, people tell me to "private message alex" who apparently no longer has private messaging. Can someone help direct me to a human who speaks English and can help??

Since this is account specific I would recommend that you send a private message to the escalation team at ATT Customer Care and someone will get in touch with you. Their normal business hours are from 7am to 10pm Central Time. Please take into account weekends when contacting them.
