I also just started having the blue light, on our bedroom receiver, on all night. This is extremely annoying in a dark room. I was on the phone with a tech at AT&T this morning who told me it's not normal but there is nothing they can do about it. Maybe it's the firmware update previously mentioned but it is really ANNOYING!!! You might think that the company would investigate the possible outcomes of a change before they make it but the obviously don't care. I guess it can put some tape on the receiver but it seems to me that AT&T should fix this problem. I do have other cable options in my area and might reconsider them. BTW - my TV in this location is connected with an HDMI cable.
