RCSMG, hi. Earlier this week I posted shots of my stats after receiving my 4HD setup. I was having all kinds of pixilaztion (sp) and freezes. I just checked again and I see that uverse upped my power from -2.7 to -3.4...I've not had any errors or problems today with my streams coming in. Would uverse upping the power be a reason for not getting all the errors in the FEC I was receiving?

I downloaded the app and installed it, but it's not seeing my gateway with the Status on the IP/Profile tab saying "Unable to connect to 2Wire Router". Now I do have a Linksys router attached to the gateway for wireless access and control, and my PC is connected to the Linksys. But I can still access the gateway directly, so I'm not sure why this app can't?

Review page 3 of the U-verse Realtime Readme file. It mentions that a router behind a router could cause an issue and the workaround to correct the problem.

I called in about 6:00pm with a DVR problem and AT&T determined it was beginning to fail so they are sending me a replacement tomorrow thru UPS, great
So while I have them on the phone I asked if the 0SD/4HD is available in Jacksonville Fl yet. Yes, and would you like me to upgrade you from the 1/3 to the 0/4 ? WOW, yes, thank you. The rep does her thing and says it went through just fine and to reboot my boxes and it would appear. I have supper, reboot boxes and now have 2/2 instead of 1/3. LOL
Called CS again and was told since I called after 1pm their system automatically drops you 1 level when you get a replacement box thru UPS, but the 0/4 is in the system and will take effect once I plug in the replacement DVR and call them back. Sorry, but this makes no sense to me even though I'm typing it.
Hopefully I'll have the 0/4 by the end of the week though.

Don_H: I agree that your experience makes no sense, but you're not alone. I called Sales to order a 3rd STB for my daughter's study. However, the ordering system flagged my 1SD/3HD as a "bandwith exceeded" error and made them drop me to 2SD/2HD. The Sales tech said no problem, and that she would get tech support on the line to get around the issue. To make a long story short, my WAN profile got dropped from 32/5 to 25/2 the next day, and it took a call to Tech Support and escalation (at my insistence) to a supervisor to get the 1SD/3HD and 32/5 WAN profile back.
It would seem that the support systems for Sales and Tier 1 Tech Support don't recognize how prevalent 1SD/3HD has become in many markets. The Tech Support supervisor, however, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful -- he had me back in business within 30 minutes, and he even called me back to ensure it worked and that I was satisfied.
Lessons learned: Be really careful when calling for service, and never settle for a poor/mis-guided answer.

I have had the 4 HD profile since late August. It's great! I hope at some point all 4 HD streams can be used to record at the same time.

A co-worker who has been wanting UVerse and who was surrounded by neighbors who could get it was told this week by a uVerse sales person that he could get 4HD streams now. I told him I would check, but have not seen anything here about 4HD streams yet. Has anyone heard about the possibility of this being available?

Of course, it all depends on your area of the country and how far you are from the VRAD.
WAN Profile: Number of streams you have into your house
Ingress Profile: Number of streams you have into your DVR
Egress Profile: Number of streams you have out of your DVR (for total home DVR purposes.)
Watching something from the DVR onto your TV connected into the DVR does not use a stream.
I have HEARD that the 4 HD / 0 SD profile is only for WAN at this point.
I would suggest calling tech support, setting up a visit from a technician and hearing what the tech tells you.

Friday morning about 1:10am, I got a screen message asking if I wanted to restart the DVR for 4 HD. Even though I can't use the 4th HD, I clicked restart and it did and now have a WAN profile of 0SD/4HD. ![]()

It's still good to have the 4 HD streams in case you want to record 3 programs at the same time.
And do what w/the 4th one? I could record all 3 HD before this, the 4th is only viewable on an STB that I do NOT have. ![]()

I emailed Tier 2 support to request the 32/5 profile. Within 30 minutes, I got a response that I had been upgraded to the 4HD profile.
This is *** with U-Verse Tier II Technical Support. First off I do want to thank you for e-mailing the U-Verse Care Social Media Support Group where our goal is to get your issue resolved as soon as possible.
I changed your profile to the 32/5 and changed the HD to 4. Please power cycle your set top boxes and check to see if you can pull 4 HD streams. Let me know if there is anything else technical that I can assist you with.

I called cust svc on Friday and they confirmed I could get 4HD. They went ahead and put in an order for the change which resulted on a confirmation email. But they told me it could take up to 4 days for this to show up. As of Saturday afternoon I still had the old 3HD/1SD profile as of a DVR reboot that day. This is odd given I was bumped up to the 3HD profile live on the phone with immediate results.
On an unrelated note, my session on this forum expired and I had to log in again. I ended up doing a password reset and I'm back in. BUT, now my ID changed. It now has the added _1 appended to the name. What's up with that?

Did you happen to be Banzai also in the Wireless forum? If so, you used a different email address than there and it did not know it was you as Wireless got first preference over us. PM wendy, she might be able to help geting rid of the _1. Good luck ![]()
