I have a Samsung c450. Was able to calibrate from hdnet using component and hdmi. MUST set HDMI black level to "normal" to get the zero and ten to appear in test pattern.

One thing I noticed on my tv is that the zero changed only slightly across the entire contrast range, so I turned the contrast up until the edge of the big white bar began to distort.
