Look in the Settings button on your Pod and see if YOUR UV Network is listed under WI-FI; it might look like you're connected, but it's only picking up a signal somewhere.
If it's not YOUR Network, see if yours is listed, if not, enter the SSID manually.
Check NETWORK under the General button. You should see your current Wi-Fi SSID listed there.
Is your Wi-Fi encrypted at your home (WPA/WPA2)? That could be why you can't connect, needs your password.
Your parents' home might be using no encryption/password which is why you could connect.
Secured Wi-Fi is highly recommended.
