The problem is that if Disney makes a new Star Wars film, it's just going to be 2 hours of Ewoks and Jar Jar. They'll just make it a kids/family movie rather than a more serious sci-fi good/evil story.
Booooorrrrring.
Original trilogy set the standard for this franchise, and even at that, Return of the Jedi was a bit weak in parts.
The 2nd trilogy was entirely forgettable, especially the first two films. The third one was better but still didn't measure up.
Where's Disney to go but further down?
Remember when Disney bought Marvel how everyone and their grandmother was complaining that they would screew things up and turn Spider-Man into another super kid-friendly version of Mickey Mouse?
Now go back to the not to distant past and look at what currently is the highest grossing movie this year. Is it a Marvel movie? And doesn't Disney own Marvel? Did they screw up the property or treat it right and make a movie that wouldn't have ever happened if Marvel was still its own company.
