I would check performance from one of your wire-connected PCs using SpeedTest.NET or similar.  I would also visit www.uvrealtime.com from a windows PC and download,install and run the tool from there.  Post screenshots of the IP Profile, Error and Bitloading tabs and let us have a look.

Your screenshots from UVRealtime.com indicate pretty decent conditions.

Try doing speedtest.net from your wired PC now and see what you've got.  Also, let's have a look at your Interfaces tab, too.

From my wired computer on speed test.net I had a 1.76 mbps download and a .71 mbps upload, I don't know what that means to be honest with you, The server i tested from is only A mile away from my house

One thing that stands out at me is that you've sent over 10 GB of traffic up to the Internet from your home in the past 3 days.  Depending on how that is bursted, what you may have been running into is an issue with how well the 2WIRE holds up when a lot of traffic is going up, though I note that you've said you've worked to eliminate other sources of traffic while you're playing.  Online backups, bitTorrents and PC games that share updates with other players are typical problems here.

You might want to leave the PC running UVRealtime connected while you play and see what the typical flow is.

Do you know what HSI speed you're subscribed to AT&T for?  1.7 Mbps down is a little low.  .7 up isn't too bad for the lower speeds (like 3 or 6).  At 12 Mbps or 18 Mbps down, you should get 1.5 Mbps up.

Geographic closeness of a Internet server may or may not be all that important, depending on how the traffic gets from your home to it.  One that is far away has minimum limits that physics won't allow to be breached, but closer machines may have routes that make them slower than one half way across the continent.

See the odd thing is I've uses speedtest before about 2 times a month, and just last month I was getting on average a 3 download speed, and all of the sudden it's dropped, do you think this could mean that something went wrong with my router? And no I do not know what we are subscribed for but i will find that out
