What is the upload speed for the Max Plus plan?

I recently purchased Uverse internet. When I was ordering the internet plan over the phone. The lady Told me the Max plus plan had 18 download and 3 upload. Well today the technican came out to install it. He told me all of the internet packages have 1.5 upload. He said to call customer support and I did that. While talking to customer service rep, she told me the samething. I asked her If she can upgrade me an upgrade to the turbo plan. See said its not in my area and the max turbo plan has 1.5mb upload as well. The only reason I got uverse is, my dad is living with and he wants to keep his sbcglobal email account. So I need to know if att screwed me because if they did. The screwed the wrong person over. 

I have to have a faster upload speed.

IIRC, the speeds are:

 

6.0 Mbps down/1.0 Mbps up

12.0 Mbps down/1.5 Mbps up

18.0 Mbps down/1.5 Mbps up

24.0 Mbps down/2.0 Mbps up.

I think the Max Turbo plan is 24.0 Mbps down / 3.0 Mbps up.

That plan is only available for the 3600HGV, 3800HGV-B and 3801HGV gateways (not available on iNID), and you must be close enough to have the 32/5 line profile.

How can we tell which line profile we have? By checking the modem software?

When I look at my Modem's settings it is displaying that my user rate is 25208kbps Down & 2040kbps Up. My Max User rate is set at 55453kbps.

How can I determine my line speed?

You're on a 25/2 profile not a 32/5. Though, if you download SomeJoe's tool via uverserealtime.com and post a few screenshots, we can more accurately help you.

I've received several solicitations to move up to the Max Plus plan, but when I try to upgrade online, the choice isn't available. I'm on the 25/2 profile, though UV Realtime shows that I should be on 32/5. I doubt whether simply requesting a profile change would make a difference, however, since an AT&T rep told me that Max Plus "isn't available in my area," whatever that means.

 

I'm generally happy with my U-verse service, but it seems that it's being bypassed by competing services like Verizon FiOS and cable, which both offer much higher speeds down and up.

Well, 24/3 HSI is not available as long as you're on the 25/2 profile.  AT&T seems to be requiring a tech visit to upgrade you to 32/5 profile these days.  Given this, a online upgrade to 24/3 probably isn't there until you get that tech visit.

Thanks, JefferMC - I assumed that the response I got from the AT&T rep was based on the knowledge or assumption that subscribers in my neighborhood are on the 25/2 profile and hence can't upgrade to 24/3. It'd be nice to be able to talk to someone with more technical knowledge and tell them that UV Realtime recommends the 32/5 profile and could they send someone out to verify that and make the change. I may call back and see if I can speak with someone else.

Worth trying, at least.  What distance does UVRealtime think you're from the VRAD?
