You are free to switch to any device that you like throughout your contract term, however, if you are going to use a Blackberry, iPhone, or any other smartphone, you will be required to have the proper smartphone data plan on your account. If you want to switch to a NON-smartphone, during your 2 year contract, you are free to do that as well, and then you can have the data plan removed since you are no longer using a smartphone............ Hope this clears things up.
