HOW TO RESET your YAHOO/ATT/SBCGLOBAL emails WITH OUT CALLING YAHOO!!!
Alright Guys Ive been doing computers for many many years I read every forum for this 1 problem that seems to be afflicting People that use an ATT YAHOO EMAIL account.. and loss of hair. And nobody knows anything but I knew a little about data migration.
I got so upset I had to figure this out myself I decided to post a how to reset att yahoo password WITH OUT HAVING TO CALL YAHOO.
NOW REMEMBER YAHOO CANNOT reset your att/sbc yahoo account.
ALSO ATT SAYS THAT THEY CANNOT reset your YAHOO account.
So you will have to find out where your merged yahoo to sbcglobal account is.
Below is how to find out. Once your know witch account is merged with that you can reset the SBC GLOBAL account password witch in turn will reset the yahoo merged account as well.
But if you are SLY and know what the SBCGLOBAL.net email is, you can log into www.att.net click on email then log into your yahoo email using the SBCGLOBAL.net email to get your att/sbc yahoo emails as they are one and the same hence being merged..
I know this doesn't make sense but it will work. This rest below is how to get your original SBCGLOBAL.net email that has been merged with your att yahoo account and reset passwords on both.
This will actually require you to reset your DSL modem password.
You will have to call this number 1-877-722-3755 and say email and when you get to an operator say you need your SBCGLOBAL.net Email reset witch in turn is the same as your dsl login password..
You will have to say dsl login password reset just make sure the operator knows you need your SBCGLOBAL email reset.
Witch is your SBCGLOBAL.net "ATT" account. This will as well reset your Password for your yahoo "att" account as well. But the Tech on the phone wont know this.
To start. ATT YAHOO ACCOUNT was a YAHOO ACCOUNT assigned by SBCGLOBAL.net WHILE is was still SBCGLOBAL.net They Later merged into ATT and little by little ATT have been ingesting email accounts. SO you SAY I forgot MY YAHOO security question its because there was never one to begine with
.... If you got a Yahoo account through SBC there was no security question. Here is what you have to do..
1 Find your orginal SBCGLOBAL.net email. This is actually the same account you would have to use to log into your DSL connection.
Log into your DSL ATT account management Page and verify your yahoo account is the primary email account. You Will have to either CALL ATT to find out what your SBCGLOBAL EMAIL IS.
OR go to their website and request your account management log in by using the I forgot my log in.
Then it will ask for email verification. This is usually the yahoo account you are trying to unlock. It will then tell you what your USER ID is. If you forgot your PASSWORD for the user ID then REQUEST TEMP PASSWORD then have them call you back on the phone selection.
Then Log in using the temp password the website will then have you make a new password. However this is a password just for managing your dsl billing account and will not change your yahoo passoword. This part is just to verify that your att yahoo email is in fact on your DSL SBCGLOBAL account.
Check under emails under the account management page to see if your original yahoo email is listed as the primary email. DO NOT EDIT OR CHANGE THIS!! WARNING DOING THIS WILL F this all up!
K now you know what your email is on the same account as your SBCGLOBAL acount.
You can get your SBCGLOBAL.net email info from the Customer service rep by asking them what is my email for my DSL account. They will ask you your address and a 3 digit number found on your phone bill. So have these handy.
Once you got your SBCGLOBAL EMAIL account they will have you log into your modem using your computer and have you input a temp DSL login password to log into your DSL account. Just bear with this. After you follow the steps of the customer service rep. He will ask you to make new security questions. Input your new security questions here. MAKE SURE YOU WRITE THESE DOWN THIS TIME AND PUT THIS INFO WITH YOUR BIRTH CERT or where EVER YOU STORE IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS!!!! I cannot stress this enough.
Now You read my whole faq and you finally get to the point where the guy on the phone will now reset your password to your SBCGLOBAL.net email account/DSL login account. Input a new password and write it down AND BAMMO! password is now changed with your att.yahoo account with the password you just used to change your SBCGLOBAL account.
This took me a week to figure out and I realized from my college years that data migration is a pain and only the guy who migrated the data probably knows this. This is why you haven't been able to find a solution on how to fix your yahoo accounts. Also any accounts with less that 8 letters and numbers were affected and were forced to be password reset this is the reason why your old yahoo email decided to quit working. I hope this has been helpful and you get your email back in working order.
