DSL available down the street but not at my house

I am moving to a new house and tried signing up for DSL service. When I check availability it shows that DSL is not available for my address. I check a house right down the street and it is available. If it is unavailable at my address how do I go about requesting service be moved/extended to my location? I am an AT&T employee also, don't know if we get any benefit in this area from that.
