Re: AT&T Wont Stop Sending me Texts!

I got my cell phone a little over a month ago and I keep getting constant text messages from AT&T with these "AT&T Free Msg" announcements that are annoying and I wish I could stop. They say "End mktg msgs? Reply STOP" at the end. I have tried this MANY times but every time I reply with "STOP" I just get a message back that says "3731 Error Invalid Number" and I KEEP getting these texts. I did not sign up for them, I can not stop them, and I am upset I have to post this here and can not email AT&T about this to tell them to disable my number from getting such texts. Can anyone help me?

Is this from a smartphone? Instead of entering the numbers, try the letters and see if that works.

I dont have a smartphone: I got the cheapest phone at the store, around 20 bucks. I of course entered letters (STOP), no numbers. I still get the texts.

Hmm ok, did you make sure you entered 7867? Just ruling out every possibility

Yes, I've done it many times. I've tried "STOP", "stop", "Stop", etc. Every time I send the reply, I instantly get a text back saying "3731 Error Invalid Number" and I continue to get these unsolicited texts. Is there someone I can email to take my number off this list?

Hmm how odd. I would recommend dialing 611 to get in touch with Customer Care as they should be able to help stop the texts and/or pinpoint the problem.

UPDATE: I called AT&T for help but they offered no help, either. I'm officially giving up. Again, I just wish there was someone I could email to get off this list, like for spam emails.

I already answered that in my original post. Quoting from my first post:

I am done with this now. I have explained the problem many times online and over the phone but get no help- just people asking the same few questions over and over. I'm giving up.
