Cust service is not helpful, am told management does not speak with customers. Nobody is taking any accountability or offering restitution for what I have paid for or damages suffered.

If so, really all AT&T can do is give you a credit for what you've paid and/or change your number. What did customer service offer?

Un-published or un-listed?
"Unlisted numbers are not private, but they are not publicly listed in a directory. Unpublished telephone numbers are not listed in the directory and are not available via a 411 inquiry. An unpublished number also means your phone company cannot share or sell it to other companies, whereas the opposite is true for an unlisted number. Today, the Internet contains a wealth of information about people and makes it possible to easily find unpublished numbers."
If you've given your number to any credit card company or retailer or listed it on a website, some of those companies sell your number to a third party. We used to pay for an unlisted number until we realized our efforts were futile.
And robo calls: that's a whole other story.

All this time I thought it was that they put your name, birthday and ssn out there for everyone to see. IF you are truly paying for an unpublished number they yes, they made a mistake, not earth shattering, but you should be refunded the $4.95 / mo that you are paying to have an unpublished number. As for restitution, really?
Since we are just customers like you there is nothing we can do.
However, since this is account specific I would recommend that you send a private message to the escalation team at ATT Customer Care and someone will get in touch with you. Their normal business hours are from 7am to 10pm Central Time. Please take into account weekends when contacting them.

If after two business days you have not gotten a response, Send a PM to Alex. He or someone from his team will get in touch with you. Again keep in mind weekends.
