Have you gone into your Facebook privacy settings from your FB home page to check your notification settings? I'm not talking about your notification settings on your iphone.

I personally think it's the app and not your iPhone. Sometimes my notifications will come through and sometimes they don't. I've seen the same complaints about notifications on the app reviews.

The app has been modified a lot.  I may just swing by an apple store and see what they say.  I have got so many theories about this. 

 

If I post something, and someone replies, it hits my phone.  Private messages do not unless I leave myself signed in which I shouldn't have to do at all.

The Facebook app is full of so many problems that I didn't even install the "latest" update from October or whatever month it was. I've had to deal with an annoying red '1' notification on my App Store application for about 3 months now and it drives me insane...

I went by the Apple store on Friday in the DC area and they were stumped as well, somehow, when the person deleted the app, reinstalled it, and hit power and home at the same time, which resets something, the FB option would show up in notifications.  It worked for a while, and then disappeared when I got home.  The person in the apple store had me on their wi-fi so I don't know if it was "magic" that it worked in Apple or not.

 

Apparently, FB knows about this, there have been two updates in the last week, and the problem still isn't fixed. 

I want to add that somehow on my school's wi-fi network, I uninstalled the FB app and reinstalled it, and FB shows up in the notification center, however, private messages are not hitting my phone.  Is this an AT&T issue or a FB issue?

The notification for FB is showing up for now, but not private messages.  That is what is baffeling to me. 

The fact I was able to put the app on through the school's wi-fi is interesting though, considering I uninstalled/reinstalled the app at home multiple times to no avail. 

Were you able to just open the app from the last time you closed it or looked at it? Or did it actually load and refresh everything?

I have always been able to open the app.

 

Here's the weird thing, I can log on to FB on a PC, and then restart my phone (meaning hit the hold and power button at the same time until the apple logo arrives) and then FB will pop up on the notifications.  However, PM's still will not show up, and the only option I get is "badges" and not the other two options.  If I get on FB from my phone and go to notifications, all 3 options show up.

 

I have friends with the iPhone 4 and they don't have a problem at all. If someone replies to a post, it hits my phone.
