Hey drum_bass, doesn't data from/to apple devices go thru their servers to check for viruses like RIM devices?
I really want toI upgrade to an iPhone.

I have not heard that for much of the data usage. If you use SIRI, icloud, apple maps, etc. that will go through Apple but basic browsing does not.
thank bro. I'm going into a corporate store next week and see if they are still offering early upgrades to the iPhone. I've got 6months left on mine.

Depending on your monthly bill, you might be pushing the early upgrade. It never hurts to ask.
Yup, been a good boy in paying bills, but I might have to wait a couple of months still. I'll let you know what they say.

Under the impression the upgrade advantage program changes about 4 months ago, everyone is at 20 months, no change if you pay more or not.

Back to virus topic. My understanding is that iOS is pretty much virus free since the only way to install anything onto it is trough the app store, which Apple controls and has to first approve any app, so they make sure there are no viruses or malware. Virus as a program that will try to install itself without your permission, but by design, iOS will not allow it to install unless it's coming from the app store.
P.S. All of the above don't apply to Jailbroken devices, so don't Jailbreak guys.

Definitely introduced recently, as I was able to qualify for a full upgrade 18 months into my contract (bought iPhone 4 3/2011, upgraded to iPhone 5 on release day). Guess my point was that there was definitely some flexibility in how long into a contract a customer had to wait before qualifying for a fully-discounted upgrade price.

then you got in just under the wire, no really much else to discuss, it is 20 months now according to ATT's own website, that is unless you are that much in a hurry to get a new device and are willing to pay the additional 250.00 once you qualy for the early upgrade - personnally I am not
