As much as I like their products there is no way I would stand in one of those lines unless they were free nothing beats free with that said as soon as the fever dies down I will walk in and buy one probably weeks later.

I just called the store to see if my PRE ORDER arrived there . . . nope! They only have 3 people in line and since my order shows as shipped (but can be 14-21 days), they can't even cancel my order for me to pick one up today.

 

NEVER AGAIN PRE ORDER

Big brown truck just delivered my 32 GB Black!  9:05 am EST.

Yeh i made mistake pre ordering aswell. I could have picked one up in store.

Only 15 people in line at the ATT store by my office.  Stood in line and walked out with a 16G black.  Got in line at 7:30, walked out of the store at 8:45

Me too.  For the 4 and 4S, I preordered through AT&T Premier, but this was the first one through Apple for me.

Activation was smooth.  I turned the phone on, connected to WiFi, and did the OTA activation.  It verified my munber, and I had to agree to the TOC on the screen.  In less than a minute, the 5 was showing AT&T as the network, and my 4S went to "no service".

 

I can't order through Apple or I will loose my grandfathered unlimited data plan

So many 4S owners buying a 5 lol

I still have like 13 months to go on my 24 plan but my
Carrier does allow upgrading early after 6 months
As much as I like the new bigger phone I wanna keep
My 4S cos I can use it with my hiFi the new one has a different connector I know about the pin adaptor available shame apple didn't include it free in the box though

Anyway plan is keep 4S come next year I get the 5S
And my 4S becomes a hiFi prop for wifi music and music listening oh and a spare phone

My first impression is that you can really feel a difference when you hold it as compared to holding the 4/4S.  The thinner body is the most noticible, the lower weight a bit less.  The screen is more of a bluish tint like my old 4, instead of the warmer yellowish tint on the 4S.  Personally, I'm glad that they went back to the cooler tint of the 4.  The faster processoor is also noticible.  The 5 seems to open web pages noticibly faster than my old 4S did.

Yes you can....I'm still on my unlimited plan.

 

Then they lied to me because I was told I had to order via the AT&T store! UGH...

After about 30 min on the phone with AT&T, I found out that my pre-order is now delayed for 14-21 days.  Thanks for the notification, AT&T.

 

Also, some of my friends who placed their pre-orders after I did (by hours, in some cases) have received their phones.  In other words, AT&T is not filling orders "first come, first served".  So again, thanks.

 

I am not obsessed with getting this thing today, but it would be nice if AT&T could keep their customers informed.  And, at the very least, the company should follow its own stated policies regarding the distribution of the phones they were able to receive...

 

 

My White 64GB iPhone 5 was delivered at 10:08am. I love it so far!!

I was finally able to obtain an order status by using the digits below the bar code on my sales receipt. It's been shipped & due to arrive on Monday. Finally, I will soon have a phone that works!

Got mine at 1019am this morning, still have to get a zagg ad waiting on my case before I switch from my 4. Going to miss my jailbreak. Then I'm going to unlock and sell my 4 to help cover my cost

I think that the pictures on Apple's site were realistic.  The back of the phone looks different from different angles.  I saw the black in person.  There are some angles that you can hold it at where it looks solid black; there are other angles where the top and bottom gloss stand out and the middle section looks almost like a brushed-metal gray.  It was pretty.  I always use cases on my phones but would want to take a case off of the iPhone 5 every now if I had it.

 

Whats the point of a per-order if you have to wait until October 5-21st  I thought per-order means you get it first before it comes out.  This really sucks.
