Actually, 2G iPhone customers cannot change to the new 2 tiered data plans. They can upgrade to a 3G/3GS/4 and change to the $30 unlimited plan or the new plans, but if they keep their 2G iPhone they cannot change to the new smartphone data plans.
Ok, just to clarify. If an iPhone 2G user upgrades to a 3G, 3GS or 4 even after the 7th of this month, can they still add the Unlimited Data Plan of $30.00?
Yes. Heres a Screenshot of my OLAM that i sent to the Consumerist in response to a "AT&T employee" saying you cant go from a 2G to a new iPhone and keep unlimited data. I was acting like i was going to upgrade to the 3GS and notice how in the Screenshot it shows the 30 dollar Unlimited Data plan as well as the tier'd options.
