For those who use Hotmail, what do you think of Microsoft's new Outlook interface?

Hey everyone.  I was wondering what those of you who use Hotmail think of the new Outlook interface that Microsoft has come out with, which is still a work in progress.  Do you like it?  Do you not like it?  What are some pros and cons that you have found, those of you who have switched to the new interface?

 

PROS:

 

- simpler, cleaner, appearance

 

- address book looks more organized

 

CONS:

 

- automatically signs me into the messenger when I do not want to be.

I mostly use T-bird, but I do not like the new look! 

 

I'm seeing ads on the right that cannot be blocked (even opting out of Ad Choices).  Yeah, I know this is a free email, but the ads are distracting and annoying (which I'm sure is their purpose). :smileyvery-happy: 

 

Using Ad Choices opt-out with old Hotmail, all I see is an ad for something Microsoft--stays static and doesn't change.

 

I told them what I didn't like and was going back to old Hotmail, but sure my opinion fell on deaf ears.

Another con, extreme lack of Themes.  I have several accounts and like to mix things up a bit.

Yeah. I am not too crazy on the new appearance either.  They definitely need to add more themes.  They have better themes on Yahoo Mail and Gmail by Google.  I hope they add new themes soon.  On the plus side, I do like the address book and how simple and organized it is.

 

I also use the new version of Windows Live Messenger, the 2012 version, and I have problems with adding Yahoo contacts to my list.  I cannot do that anymore. I used to be able to with the Windows XP version.

I need customization since I have more than a couple of emails!  I gave them my feedback, FWIW. :smileysad:

I also like having customization.  I would like to see Microsoft add more of that in their next update.  I also gave them some feedback.  I have noticed that through all of the updates that Yahoo has done with their web mail service, they have managed to keep all of the customization features that I enjoy and they still keep the email interface user friendly, whereas Microsoft has taken that away, somewhat.
