I am writing today to post how disgusted I recently was that I decided to purchase a new phone and was charged an additional $36 fee. I did not change my contract, and I was eligible for an "upgrade" but at no time was this fee pointed out to me until the very end of the process. The day prior to me upgrading, my husband did, and was also charged this fee, but was never informed of this fee. I think it is disgusting that we were both charged, and we had to pay it, there was other choice unless we changed carriers which we did not want to do. So on top of purchasing new phones and spending the money, we also had to spend extra money to upgrade. That is pathetic at&t and you should be ashamed. We haven't bought phones in over 5 years, and we didn't change an single thing to our contract. I think it stinks that you have no choice but to pay it or leave. Talk about a nasty strong arm. PATHETIC.
It is not a hidden fee - if I recall correclty it is in the terms of service and on your reciept. If you did a online order it is shown in the end billing page
