I moved the microcell away from the wireless and it still did the same flashing red.  I swapped the unit out at the AT&T store on Monday afternoon and everything has been solid since then...fingers crossed.  Actually it's working better than ever!  The activation took about 10 minutes and my phone (Blackberry) logged on right away.  Again, keeping my fingers crossed.
