The entire time i was having problems with mine the GPS light was always solid and AT & T would ALWAYS tell me that the GPS was NOT the problem......but it was the problem......i think when you plug in an external antenna it switches off the "built in" one and the microcell is a differant beast altogether.......why they dont include one is beyond me.....
