I'm considering replacing my Z750a with a W518a in a month or two when my 2 yr contract is up. Has anyone else made the same change? Any regrets?
I'm generally happy with the Z750a but I only get about 3-4 days standby time with light use (older phones of mine were MUCH better, lasted at least a week between charges). I played with the W518a in the store and it feels a bit cheap and flimsy by comparison and the keys are on the small side for my big paws -- but I think I can live with that. It is a little bit slimmer and will fit easier in my front pocket.
Do the chargers mix and match from both phones? Based on info from SE site and other vendors it's not clear. I also have a headset and data cable for the Z750a, I'm hoping those are compatible with the W518a too.
Any advice is appreciated! Main concerns are battery life, size (small as possible), and quad band GSM + UMTS coverage (japan/korea).

I made this same switch. I primarily use the phone in standard GSM (non-3G) markets, but when visiting the 3G markets in my region get good performance there as well as around my 'home' area (GSM).
I liked my z750a but never really was in love with the battery life. I had a z520a before that phone, and the 520 had superior battery life for me.
The w518a however is more in line with my old z520a - great battery life. I typically charge once a week unless I have a lot of talk time. I'm not a heavy talker and I do not text or use internet. Occasionally I'll play some music on the phone, but not too often.
Love the phone overall.
Contrary to your statement about the quality of the phone, I feel the w518a has a very solid feel and quality. Now, it's much thinner and sleeker than the z750a so maybe that's intrepreted as the difference in feel. I think the phone is very solid (firm flip, solid feel on the outside and durable feel overall).
I upgraded two of my lines to this phone ultimately - but at first one line was upgraded to the Moto em330. The Moto EM330 was probably the worst phone I have ever had in my hands with horrible battery life, cheap case, and poor RF performance.

Thanks! I had z525a before the z750a, so I know what you mean about the battery life.
Nokia are my favorite phones for voice quality, but their current flip phones seem to have poor battery life based on reveiws (mural & 6350). I miss my old nokia candy bar phone (TDMA), I could charge that once every two weeks.
