Is there any way i can get my Rogers Galaxy S3 (i747M) to work on AT&T's LTE network ? I can only get HSPA+ 4G to work on it, but no AT&T LTE Access. I've already tried putting in the APN settings into the phone with no luck. Do i need a Smartphone data plan ? or can a non-smartphone data plan work with LTE too ???

It's the same phone. Rogers uses the same technology as far as network bands go as AT&T does so, hypothetically, you shouldn't be having any problems. Not too sure on this one to be honest but perhaps the limitation can be found in the stock firmware (total shot in the dark).
Double check your APN settings. What's your profile look like anyways?
Worst case, you can check to see if you can flash an AT&T ROM onto your GS3. I'm not too sure if there is a method yet (as I just have a lowly GS2 so I'm not really keeping up on the GS3's mods) but the phone offered to Rogers and AT&T are the same variant.

The phone's IMEI is programmed into a chip and can't be changed by flashing another carrier's ROM.
Stupid question, but are you sure you're in an LTE service area?

there are multiple threads on xda developers that warn against flashing another carriers rom onto the S3 or else you will loose the imei.
Yes i am in a LTE area - in the middle of manhattan NYC
i'm begining to suspect that i need a smartphone data plan inorder to use the PTA APN settings ....

Make sure your device supports the same bands AT&T LTE uses ( Band 4 and 17). If your device uses different bands, you will not see LTE on your device. However, HSPA+ is pretty good as well in terms of data speeds.

Not to be a donkeybutt, but we've already covered this. The device that OP is using is indeed compatible with AT&T's LTE.
@OP: I used to have a nifty little tool for restoring "damaged" IMEIs (i.e. all 0's after a bad flash), but unfortunately I lost it when my last HD done blowed up. I'd imagine however that backing up your efs folder should be more than sufficient, should you want to try running an AT&T ROM. Also, flashing the stock firmware back onto your device would restore your IMEI.

No, Look close at the threads. =p You have to be careful not to flash the bootloaders/cwm and basebands from a different "model" or exploits from a diff model. Meaning dont use the T999 Galaxy S3 stuff.
Roms itself you are fine and wont lose the imei. Trust me, I know. I just flashed my T999 T-Mobile over. Since I am now with ATT. Basically when it comes to installing CWM, Make sure it matches your model of the phone. Then as for the rom. Thats up to you to pick one you like. Be sure you get a matching Kernel too otherwise your wifi/data may not work correctly.
