How do I transfer photos from phone to computer? I have a chip and adapter but still cant do it.

I have a ATT z221 phone and I have a USB cable to connect my phone to my computer.  I plug it in but the phone does not appear.  The phone does start charging, but I want to move pictures to the computer using the cable.  Thanks

#1 Do you have a Messaging Plan of some sort?? If you do, you can always send your pics as an MMS to your email address and save them to your computer that way. You need to enter your email address into your contacts, in order to do this. There is no need for a monthly data plan since MMS would be included in your Messaging Plan.  #2 Does your phone have a memory card to store your pictures on?? If so, then why not store your pics on there instead of in your phone? If you have somewhere on your computer to insert the card, you can transfer them that way.
