My BlackBerry phone is on its last legs and I need to replace it. I have been thinking of getting a Pantech Impact and I'm wondering how others like it. I have read numerous reviews for this phone and many really liked it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

HATE IT. Not sure what berry u have, but this phone would be a HUGE step backwards. The one thing is does well is texting. But the rest of it SUCKS. BIG TIME. Not configurable. Has extremely limited video format playback. You will get charged every month by the AT&T {word filter evasion} for the use of web. Because u can't delete the web access software. Pantech sucks as a software company. I wouldn't by this phone again. I won't be with at&t after our agreement ends. They suck more than the phone.

I used to have a blackberry and down grading from that phone to something else was sooo hard to get used to.
So to answer your question, the Impact is a nice phone. Its cute. Works as a messaging phone, but I dont know about the browser or call quality.
Just depends on what you want the phone to do for you.

I had a BlackBerry Curve 8310 and I went to the store yesterday and purchased the Pantech Impact. It's a cute little phone. I can see why people like it. The phone works great for what I use it for. I wanted something smaller and simpler anyway.
Thanks for the feedback.

I would absolutely not recommend this phone. The touch technology on the keypad freezes consistently, the phone dials randomly, lately the phone has not been ringing and I cannot make calls out or text for up to a half an hour. My location has not changed, so I don't believe it's the signal....I've had the phone changed out via warranty replacement, and the 2nd phone was no better than the first. Of course, AT&T does not want to do anything to correct the problem, other than to keep having me reset the phone......do yourself a favor, don't buy this phone!!

I have purchased this device and I'm very happy with it. I have not had any of the issues you are describing. Perhaps you can try buying a different brand of phone. I did that when I was having problems with Motorola brand cell phones and I have not had issues since.

I had one for about a week and hated it. The face touch screen was too sensitive even when turned all the way down, and the hang up after a call when the face was closed was a real pain. Having to push the hold button until you got the menu to hang up was horrible.
