I guess no one has successfully used the Nokia Ovi store with the at&t version of the 6650 fold, that is the 6650d-1bH.
I sent the Ovi store a question about a day ago regarding this and haven't received a reply yet. I skimmed over a 38-page forum thread at Howard Forums regarding the 6650 and found some other users that were unsuccessful at Nokia's Ovi store. I have not read one post yet where anyone has successfully installed anything from the Ovi store on at&t's Nokia 6650. I hope this is some oversight at the Ovi store where they neglected to include this submodel of the 6650 and not at&t blacklisting this application source for the 6650.

Still haven't heard back from support at Ovi store, however while searching Google I ran across the following news story.
From: conversations.nokia.com, By JBC on 06 January 2010 Ovi Store rolls out billing on AT&T
GLOBAL – From today Nokia users on the AT&T network in the USA will be able to download free and paid for applications, games and device content and pay for it through their AT&T bill. Getting up and running with Ovi Store is simple, and the functionality is available now for the Nokia E71x, Nokia Surge, Nokia Mural, Nokia 6650, Nokia 6555 and the Nokia 6350 – more devices will follow.
To get up and running, Nokia users on AT&T (for the devices listed above) simply need to:
1. Visit store.ovi.com on their device
2. Download and install the Ovi Store application when prompted
3. Starting finding new content for their device and download
Funny, the above doesn't work on my AT&T branded Nokia 6650 (with fully up to date firmware).
Another source of the same story:

This is crap. I just got a reply to the email I sent the Ovi store yesterday.
In response to your inquiry about the Ovi Store, we would like to inform you that the reason why you are experiencing difficulties with the application is that Ovi Store client is no longer compatible with your device. It is also due to your service provider AT&T that may prevent the process of launching the Ovi Store application as your device is completely configured with the service provider. Instead of using Ovi Store, they do have Media Mall which is the main part why you are experiencing these issues. The Nokia 6650 is tied up with AT&T and all of the features of the device were already customized by the service provider.
This flies completely in the face of all the published news reports.
Ovi Store by Nokia delivers content and applications with convenient billing to AT&T customers
January 06, 2010
AT&T customers using select Nokia devices can now download numerous pieces of content through Ovi Store with convenient automatic billing
White Plains, NY - Today, Nokia and AT&T announced that Ovi Store by Nokia is now available to AT&T customers using the following Nokia devices - the Nokia E71x, Nokia Surge, Nokia Mural, Nokia 6650, Nokia 6555 or Nokia 6350 - with more devices to come. These AT&T customers will also be able to download free and paid content from Ovi Store with the convenience of charging their paid content purchases directly to their monthly AT&T bill.
To get started, AT&T customers with these select Nokia devices* can simply visit store.ovi.com from their device browser to begin downloading personalized content, like apps, games, ringtones, productivity tools, movie trailers and more.
- Step one: go to store.ovi.com from your Nokia device from AT&T
- Step two: once at store.ovi.com you will be prompted to download the Ovi Store application
- Step three: enjoy great content and applications for your Nokia device with AT&T.

Here is the response to second support request I sent this morning to Nokia's Ovi Store. Unfortunately, their solution will not work because the application I want, Tapatalk, is not availble from AT&T's Media Store.
Thank you for emailing the Nokia Care Contact Center. In response to your inquiry, we do apologize for the inconvenience that you have been experiencing in downloading applications from our OVI Store. We would like to inform you that Nokia 6650 is an exclusive device especially made for AT&T subscribers. AT&T put some additional settings and extra features on this device. AT&T is blocking your device to download some applications from OVI Store as they would want their subscribers to download applications from their Media Mall. Therefore, we recommend you to contact AT&T for better assistance with regards to this matter. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. To ensure proper handling of your case, kindly continue using the current subject line. Check out all the phones and accessories you can purchase, direct from Nokia at NokiaUSA.com. If you have any questions, please call us at 1-866-596-6542 and we can help you find the right product for you. Thank you very much for your email. Kind regards, Charisse C. [Contact topic: Report a problem] [Contact subtopic: Store on your mobile] [Message: Ovi store does not work at all on the AT&T branded Nokia 6650 fold (6650d-1bH) - although it is reported that it should from numerous sources (not by actual users though). When I try to install the Ovi store on my 6650 I get the message: "Sorry, this item is not available for your device: Nokia 6650d. Browse for more great content in the "Related" section below." I contacted AT&T Tech support by phone after sending them an email, to which AT&T responded that I should contact them by phone. I was on the phone for quite awhile - nearly an hour. Basically, AT&T is saying the problem is on Nokia's end, so Nokia needs to fix it (if they will). I sent Nokia another email...

I never contacted AT&T about this specific problem. However, I did ask about the lack of support for the use of 3rd party apps when accessing phone features. I got a Tier 2 Technical Support person. He told me that he didn't understand why this was not working and suggested that I talk to Nokia. Other posts that I have read suggest that AT&T is purposely limiting the usefulness of 3rd party apps (so that customers will use the apps that AT&T charges for).
I don't have the 6650, but another AT&T only Nokia mentioned in your post. I have been able to use the Ovi store to install software. The application, TapaTalk is not listed as supporting my phone at the Ovi Store (it doesn't look like the developer made one to support the OS of my phone).

Tapatalk is available for the iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, and Nokia Symbian S60 3rd edition FP2 and 5th edition models.
I haven't heard back from Nokia, and don't really expect to at this point. Four days ago "winter" from Tapatalk said they will host the software on their own forum for the Nokia's, but this hasn't happened yet.

The other day, I checked for updates of the phone's firmware in Device Manager. I got distracted and am not sure if my phone received any updates or not. Nevertheless, I was able to finally install Ovi Store a couple of days ago on my Nokia 6650.
BTW, the Tapatalk application itself for the Nokia became available from Tapatalk's forum after I started this thread. I installed Tapatalk from the forum link and not from the Ovi Store because the Ovi store version would not install at that time.
